Shakeel Kadri (M.S. ChE ′75) has been appointed executive director of the Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS), an organization of chemical engineers. Previously the director of global process safety and risk management for Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., he will be taking over his new position at the end of January 2015. Kadri has more than 36 years of experience at Air Products.
In addition to his CCPS activities, Kadri is a fellow of both CCPS and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and has served on safety committees of the American Chemistry Council, the American Petroleum Institute, the Mary Kay O’Connor Process Safety Center, the Compressed Gas Association, the European Industrial Gases and Association, and the American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers Association. He has also authored a wide variety of publications and conference papers, and has obtained a patent.
