Mehdi Modares, associate professor in the Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering department, was appointed associate editor of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Practice Periodical on Structural Design and Construction. The journal publishes articles about practical solutions to structural design problems and construction challenges of interest to practitioners. In this new role, Modares will manage the peer review process of assigned papers submitted to the journal for peer review and possible publication.
