Armour College of Engineering Material Science and Engineering Ph.D. Candidate, Thomas Kozmel, had his paper entitled “Kinetics of Sub-Micron Grain Size Refinement in 9310 Steel” selected as the winner of the 2014 ASM International Student Paper Contest.
The contest was established in 1985, as a way to encourage student participation in Society affairs. The award recognizes the best technical paper with a graduate or undergraduate student as first author that is published in an ASM sponsored publication during the year.
Kozmel will be presented with the award at the ASM Awards Luncheon during the MS&T14, the annual Materials Science & Technology Conference to be held October 12-14, 2014 in Pittsburgh, Pa.
