The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is inviting proposals for the latest round of Grand Challenges Explorations. Grand Challenges Explorations foster early-stage discovery research to expand the pipeline of ideas for solving our greatest global health and development challenges.
Grand Challenges Explorations is an initiative where initial grants are for $100,000 and successful projects are eligible to receive follow-on funding of up to $1 million.
Proposals are due Wednesday, November 8 at 9:30 a.m. CT for the following three topics:
- Novel Approaches for Improving Timeliness of Routine Immunization Birthdose and Healthcare Worker Skill in Low-Resource Settings
- Healthy Minds for Adolescent Mothers: Achieving Healthy Outcomes for the Family
- Innovations for Integrated Diagnostics Systems
Per Illinois Tech policy, all grant applications (federal and non-federal) must be reviewed, signed and submitted by the Office of Sponsored Research and Programs regardless of the amount of the request.
