The Office of Research announces Bin Jiang, graduate doctoral student in biomedical engineering, as recipient of the 2013 Sigma Xi Award for Excellence in Research and Scholarship in the student division. Jiang’s colleagues recognize her as a highly productive researcher and author, and as a caring mentor to other students. Her research activities are supported by government and industry, and she focuses her work in the areas of: design and evaluation of thermo-responsive wound dressings; development of dual drug delivery microspheres; and tissue engineering hydrogels for vascularized tissue formation. Associate Professor Eric Brey serves as advisor to Jiang.
