flyerThe Center for the Study of Ethics in the Professions at Illinois Tech is hosting a conference on Saturday, November 8, 2025, exploring philosophical, ethical, societal, and legal issues related to technology. We also welcome submissions from science and technology studies, environmental humanities, and other interdisciplinary fields engaging with topics relevant to the conference theme, as well as nontraditional presentation formats such as film and performance art.

Submissions should be anonymized and contain the paper title and a 250-word abstract (maximum length).

Please send submissions and questions to Kelly Laas at laas@illinoistech.edu, and include “2025 Sawyier Conference Submission” in the subject of the email.

If your abstract is accepted, you will be invited to give a presentation of 15–20 minutes followed by 5–10 minutes of Q&A. The conference will be held in-person at Illinois Tech’s main campus.
