Tuesday, February 17: Take It to the Bridge
noon-2 p.m.
McCormick Tribune Campus Center (MTCC) Bridge
Career Services staff members will have a table on the MTCC Bridge on Tuesday, February 17 from noon-2 p.m. Come by and pick up workshop descriptions, learn about services offered, and ask about strategies to prepare for jobs, internships, and more. Students and alumni are both welcome to take advantage of these services.
Wednesday, February 18: Co-ops and Internships
5.-5:45 p.m.
Perlstein Hall, Room 108
Developed and led by Career Services and International Center staff, this workshop provides information on how to apply to co-ops and internships and how to make sure students are in compliance with federal law and immigration regulations. This workshop is mandatory for all students participating in a co-op or internship.
Thursday, February 19: Salary Negotiations
4-4:45 p.m.
Perlstein Hall, Room 109
This workshop will teach you how to leverage your knowledge and skills to get the best possible compensation for your job, and avoid the most common mistakes job seekers make when given an offer. Specifically, this workshop will cover where to research salaries, what kinds of things to consider in this comparison (location, experience, degree, etc.), and how to review compensation packages like benefits, retirement, vacation, and more.
Friday, February 20: Job Search Strategies
1-1:45 p.m.
Perlstein Hall, Room 108
Where do you look when you need to research your major and industry? What are some ways to evaluate your skills and pinpoint your focus? How can you best utilize or expand your networks? Join Career Services staff to learn about tools to use as you search for your job and career.
