To premiere ID’s Action Lab Perspectives series, artist Carolina Caycedo presents her approach to artmaking and its relevance to design and changemaking, followed by a conversation and Q+A with Action Lab director Carlos Teixeira and an ID student.
Wednesday, June 30 at 6 p.m. CDT
MCA curator Carla Acevedo-Yates describes Carolina Caycedo’s work as “loaded with intention” and “expanding the artistic canon.” With a focus on decolonization, sustainability, and justice, Carolina uses facilitation and participatory processes to reveal the effects of legacy structures and systems in determining our reality, and demonstrates how we can leverage networks and relationships to build more responsible and cooperative futures.
Caycedo’s exhibition, From the Bottom of the River, is at the MCA Chicago until August 8.
This event is produced in partnership with the MCA Chicago.
