Join the Student Employment Office in celebrating on-campus student employees and their supervisors during National Student Employment Week. Various activities will show gratitude for Illinois Tech’s student employees throughout the week.
Recognize your student worker or supervisor.
Supervisors from all departments on campus have the chance to nominate their student employees for excellent performance on the job. (For example: their leadership, impact, initiative, professionalism, etc.)
- First Winner: $50 gift card
- Second Winner: $40 gift card
- Third Winner: $30 gift card
We highly encourage supervisors to nominate exemplary student staff members. All supervisors have been emailed a nomination form. Contact seo1@iit.edu if you did not receive this email. Nominations are due by Friday, April 7.
Similarly, students will also be able to nominate supervisors for a special recognition award for their hard work. We encourage you to nominate your supervisor and submit a quote about your on-campus employment experience. Students, submit your nominations here.
All nominations are due by April 7. Winners will be announced on Friday, April 14.

Meet Student Employment
When: Monday, April 10 from 11 a.m.–2 p.m.
Where: The McCormick Tribune Campus Center (MTCC) Bridge
Join us on the bridge for free candy and games. Enter our “Guess the number of jelly beans in the jar” contest for a chance to win a prize.
Diversity and Inclusion Workshop
When: Tuesday, April 11 from noon–1 p.m.
Where: IIT Tower, Suite 6C7-1
Discuss cultural awareness in the workplace with guest speaker Kimberly L. Weatherly, Ed.D. Weatherly is the director of multicultural affairs at Columbia College. Lunch will be provided. Space is limited, please RSVP here.
Financial Literacy and Budgeting
When: Thursday, April 13 from noon–1 p.m.
Where: IIT Tower, Suite 6C7-1
Learn how to budget finances and manage student loans. Guest speakers include Donna Rockin and Teesta Jain from the Jules F. Knapp Entrepreneurship Center and representatives from Financial Aid. Lunch will be provided. Space is limited, please RSVP here.
