Join Chris White, vice provost for academic affairs, for a lecture titled “ENERGY! Fossil Fuels, Nuclear Power, Renewables, and Global Climate Change” on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at 1 p.m. in The McCormick Tribune Campus Center Auditorium.
A thriving economy requires energy. Society requires a hospitable environment. Without a thriving economy and a hospitable environment, we won’t have well-being, a civil society, or security. The issues are complex, frequently misunderstood, and fodder for partisan bickering. However, we have no choice but to confront the issues surrounding our endless need for energy if we as a society are to enjoy both material well-being and a long, healthy life.
This is a Freshman 15 event and is open to all students, faculty and staff. Lunch will be provided.
