Facilities Operations and Maintenance has partnered with the Office of Technology Services and the Controller’s Office to convert from FAMIS, our current work order system, to HawkWorks, an Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) as of April 10. Some of the benefits that the Illinois Tech community will realize are:
- Ease of use – HawkWorks has a more modern and significantly more flexible user interface. This allows for continuous improvement of the system workflow and functionality.
- Improved communication – requesters will receive more consistent and timely communication regarding the status of requests.
- Integration with Banner – the two systems will communicate with one another, allowing for more efficient processing of work orders and related financial transactions. This will significantly reduce processing time for billing of service requests.
HawkWorks runs best using the following browsers:
Internet Explorer will connect you to the application as well, though it may run slower.
Online training videos for university employees are available in the Facilities Channel in the myIIT portal.
In-person training sessions will be offered on the dates below. If you have any questions regarding the new system or this transition, please contact the Facilities Service Desk at facilities-helpdesk@iit.edu. You may also call the service desk at 312.567.3320 for additional assistance with accessing the system or entering your request.
