Quick Wins Seminars

The Continuous Improvement unit in the Office of Student Access, Success, and Diversity Initiatives is hosting a free “quick wins” seminar twice this spring. The interactive, results-driven session is meant to help you work through a process in your office that desperately needs improvement. In situations where we cannot overhaul an entire process, we can improve the process in the meantime with some “quick wins” to better serve students and alumni, as well as to improve the work experiences of faculty and staff members.

Seminar attendees will learn how to:

  • map a current process
  • analyze it for greatest effectiveness
  • develop an action plan for when they return to their office units

Session One:

  • Date: Thursday, March 15
  • Time: 9 a.m.–noon (Coffee and breakfast pastries will be provided).
  • Location: IIT Tower, 7th floor IPRO Space
  • RSVP: Space is limited. Please RSVP here.

Session Two:

  • Date: Tuesday, April 10
  • Time: 9 a.m.–noon (Coffee and breakfast pastries will be provided).
  • Location: IIT Tower, 14th floor Center for Research and Service Conference Room
  • RSVP: Space is limited. Please RSVP here.

This is an open invitation to learn some useful methods that have been proven, through research and anecdotally, to make projects more successful. Please share this invitation with faculty, staff, alumni, key student leaders, and university friends. These events are free, but space is limited.

The facilitators Megan Mozina (mmozina@iit.edu) and Molly McCaughey (mmccaugh@iit.edu) are part of SASDI’s Continuous Improvement unit. Both are certified in change management and have backgrounds in adult training/education. To learn more about fall 2017 seminars, read blog posts from October, November, and December.

Content Revision Note:
These seminars were originally advertised with slightly different learning objectives, which included both process improvement and change management methodologies. We will no longer be addressing change management explicitly in this seminar, so we encourage faculty and staff members who are interested in learning about a simple but enlightening goal-oriented change management tool to register for the Learning Bytes session hosted by Human Resources on Tuesday, March 27 from noon–1 p.m. Students interested in learning about change management should contact Mozina at mmozina@iit.edu
