The Illinois Tech men’s tennis team competed in the Lake Forest Forester Doubles Invite on Sunday at the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff. To cap off an impressive day, Brody Croonquist and David Housman were crowned the tournament’s champions.
How it Happened
- Croonquist/Housman went unbeaten in the main draw, which included 15 different duo from Illinois Tech, MSOE, and host Lake Forest. The tandem’s victories were as follows:
- First round: 8-2 over Oliver Gallego/Zach Cho (Lake Forest)
- Quarterfinal: 8-1 over Aidan Burke/Jacob Tilton (Lake Forest)
- Semifinal: 8-2 over Brandon Berish/Brant Christensen (Lake Forest)
- Final: 8-3 over Chase Garber/Oleyksyi Vyshyvanyuk (Lake Forest)
- Illinois Tech also had other strong pairings. The tandem of Mohammed Shamel and Yousef Abdo reached the semi-finals in the main draw. In addition, Roman Shishlov and Alann Torres reached the finals in the backdraw.
