The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering will continue its Seminar Series on Friday, March 30 from 1–2 p.m. in Siegel Hall, Room 118. Guest speaker Cristian Luciano, research assistant professor in the Department of Bioengineering, clinical assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical and Health Information Sciences, and adjunct research assistant professor in the Departments of Medical Education and Urology at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) will discuss “Haptics and Virtual Reality in Medicine.”
The seminar will focus on the ongoing research and development of cutting-edge VR surgical applications for medical training, real-time performance assessment of medical students and surgical residents, non-invasive prostate cancer diagnosis, preoperative planning, and multi-sensorial surgical guidance.
