Join IIT students, faculty and staff in the McCormick Tribune Campus Center Ballroom on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, from 5 – 7 pm for the Oxfam Hunger Banquet. At and Oxfam Hunger Banquet you are seated and served based on the luck of the draw, just like in real life, where you may not necssarily have the choice on whether you are born into poverty or not. The event is sponsored by Engineers Without Borders and the IIT Office of Spiritual Life and Service Learning. At the event, you are given a meal ticket that randomly assigns you to a social class (lower, middle or upper) which determines your meal for the event. Everyone will receive a meal, but it may not be what you expect, similar to how most of the world does not get a choice in which social class they are born into.
Register here. Bring an empty stomach and an open mind.
