Members of the Illinois Tech who travel through the Loop may find commuting more difficult this month, as the city and NASCAR prepare for a two-day racing and music festival Saturday and Sunday, July 1 and 2, on a 2.2-mile circuit around Grant Park. The race will be generally bounded by Roosevelt Road, Michigan Avenue, Jackson Drive, and DuSable Lake Shore Drive, and some roads will be closed in the area to prepare for the race. There may also be delays in the weeks after the race as the city removes the track.
More information about road closures can be found here.
Lower Wacker Drive will be promoted for through traffic to avoid the Loop.
