Members of the Illinois Tech community who travel through the Loop may find commuting more difficult in the weeks leading up to and after the NASCAR Chicago Street Race, which takes place Saturday and Sunday, July 6–7, 2024, around Grant Park. Major streets that will be affected by crews setting up and breaking down the race course, as well as the race itself, include Ida B. Wells Drive, Michigan Avenue, Columbus Drive, and DuSable Lake Shore Drive.
