Below are some important instructions that will help make Commencement day run smoothly for all faculty members who are participating in the 2014-2015 Commencement Ceremony.
Robing
All faculty should report for robing at Stuart Building, located at 10 West 31st Street. Enter the doors on the south side of the building on the morning of commencement, Saturday, May 16, starting at 8 a.m. A continental breakfast will be served.
Even if you are not attending the Main Ceremony, you still must pick up your robe at Stuart Building prior to attending your Academic Unit Ceremony.
The procession from Stuart Building to Ed Glancy Baseball Field for the Main Ceremony will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m.
If you plan to attend the Ph.D. hooding ceremony on Friday, May 15, your robe will be available prior to the start of that event at Hermann Hall. You will need to wear the same robe on Saturday, May 16 for the Main and Academic Unit Ceremonies, so remember to bring it back with you on Saturday. Contact Carol Emmons via email at emmons@iit.edu, if you have any questions regarding the Ph.D. hooding ceremony.
At the end of the Commencement ceremonies on May 16, all regalia must be returned to the check-in area in Stuart Building no later than 3:30 p.m.
Parking
Permits are not needed on Commencement day. All university parking lots are open with the following exceptions:
• Reserved spots in the lot north of The McCormick Tribune Campus Center (MTCC)
• A2 lot is reserved for volunteers
• All other reserved spots on campus with a person’s name or title appearing on the reserved sign
