Career Services staff has been made aware of several fake job opportunities sent to Illinois Institute of Technology students through email, with employers stating they were referred to students by their university’s “career center.” These emails are coming from Gmail email addresses (@gmail.com). Career Services at Illinois Tech encourages students to use caution with emails that are not from a company email address, have typos or grammatical errors, or only vaguely reference the type of job or industry. Report suspicious emails to staff at careerservices@iit.edu, and remember to never provide personal information such as your bank account number or passwords to people through email if prompted.
