Responsible Research and Building an Ethical Culture
This collaborative workshop seeks to engage participants in a discussion of ethical issues that have come up in their research. They will explore existing guidelines or best practices on how to resolve or better handle these issues. Participants will jointly develop draft guidelines for future researchers to navigate these ethical questions. This workshop fulfills the NIH/HSF requirements for in-person RCR training. Participation in this workshop is required once every four years.
Awardees of federally funded grants must attend one session of this workshop. Workshops are offered at least twice a semester. In tailored to fit the research goals and ethical issues specific to the work being conducted addition to being tailored to fit the research goals and ethical issues specific to the work being conducted, individual dividual lab groups are also welcome to schedule a personalized session that can be adapted to fit the research goals and ethical issues unique to the work being done by lab members.
