The First Year Experience is an opportunity to engage first-year students who are new to Illinois Tech. A part of the First Year Experience is the Freshman 15. The Freshman 15 is a list of 15 campus programs/events that are geared toward helping new students fully experience what it is to be an Illinois Tech student. This year we will be hosting 15 programs a month, providing an opportunity for students and the community to take advantage of the great events.
The Office of Campus Life is currently taking submissions for events that departments, student organizations, or other Illinois Tech-affiliated organizations will sponsor for the fall 2016 semester. Being a part of the Freshman 15 program won’t require any extra work for you, but will provide you with another avenue to market to new students. We are looking for a mix of social, educational and traditional events. While not required, we do give preference to on-campus events and events that have no charge.
We are looking for programs for September and October, so if your department has a program that you think students will be interested in, complete our survey.
In order to be considered, all programs must be received by Friday, September 9. If you have any questions, contact Raul Fernandez, coordinator for first year programs and campus life at RFernandez1@iit.edu.
