TEMPE, Ariz.—The Intercollegiate Tennis Association released its latest NCAA Division III rankings on Thursday, and Illinois Tech women’s tennis was well-represented. Weronika Halicka and Morgan Colbert earned a doubles ranking in the Central region, while Halicka was also ranked as an individual.
Halicka and Colbert earned the poll’s 11th doubles ranking. The duo has been outstanding this year, going 19-2 overall, 16-1 in No. 1 doubles, and 5-0 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) matches. Dating back to last season, Halicka and Colbert are 38-5 lifetime as a pairing.
Individually, Halicka is ranked 12th in the poll. She has dominated all season long, going 17-2 overall, 15-1 in No. 1 singles, and 6-0 in NACC matches. In her Illinois Tech career, she is 32-2 overall and a staggering 30-1 in No. 1 singles competitions.
Women’s Tennis, the third seed in the NACC Tournament, hosts the sixth-seeded Wisconsin Lutheran College on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. at XS Tennis. A win will send the Scarlet Hawks to the NACC Semifinals, which takes place on Sunday, May 5 at Nielsen Tennis Stadium on the campus of University of Wisconsin.
