Des Moines, IA – The Illinois Tech Men’s Soccer team continued their road trip this weekend taking on 13th ranked Grandview University. Grandview took an early lead in the second minute of the game as on a goal by Forward Danny Mullins. IIT was quick to answer back though scoring a goal in the 7th minute of the game from Ciaran Kohli-Lynch off an assist by Dave Wilkenson.
Illinois Tech shortly thereafter took the lead in the 8th minute by a goal from Freshman Tyler Haag, assisted by Liam Barrett. Sam Winstanley played all 90 minutes in goal for the Hawks amounting 8 saves on 12 shots on goal. Unfortunately Grandview was able to score three unanswered goals, two of which took place in the second half. IIT will resume play this Friday at Indiana Wesleyan at 5:00 pm.
