The Spring 2026 Student Health Insurance Waiver opened on November 27, 2025. New Illinois Tech students who are taking their first classes during the Spring 2026 semester and have comparable health insurance coverage may submit a waiver.

New incoming 2026 spring students who do not wish to be enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) and have comparable health insurance with a start date of January 1, 2026, have until Monday, January 12, 2026, to opt out using the online waiver.

You will receive a confirmation email after your application has been successfully submitted.

Students who were enrolled for the Fall 2025 semester are not eligible to waive coverage.
