Illinois Tech is committed to the health and welfare of students and requires all students, staff and faculty who register for one academic credit hour or more to have health insurance. The 2025-2026 Student Health Waiver opens on June 6, 2025. Fall incoming students who do not wish to be enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) and have comparable health insurance with a start date of August 1, have until Monday, September 1, 2025, to opt out using the online waiver.
