The United States Collegiate Athletic Association recently named Max Hisatake Player of the Week for men’s basketball for action February 6–12.
Hisatake, the starting center for the Scarlet Hawks, averaged 16.0 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 6.5 blocks per game in Illinois Tech’s two victories while shooting a blistering 68.4% (13-of-19) from the floor. In an 84-74 win over RMU-Peoria on February 7, Hisatake scored 20 points while blocking an astounding nine shots and pulling down eight rebounds. On February 10, the Las Vegas native recorded a double-double of 12 points and 17 rebounds, while adding four more blocks, in a victory at Moody Bible. The sophomore now holds averages of 12.3 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks per game in 23 contests this season (all starts).
