The IIT Honors Medical Society cordially invites you to a guest speaker event on Friday, April 1 with alumnus Michael Morley (BME ’08).
He will discuss what it’s like to be a premed student who eventually ends up choosing an alternative career path. Morley believes premed students sometimes suffer from severe “sample bias” because they only receive advice from people who actually decided to go to medical school, but don’t talk to many alumni who decided to pursue alternative career paths. He will speak about his personal experiences and reason for not going to medical school even after finishing his premed degree. He will also discuss what potential career opportunities individuals might have if they decide not to pursue the M.D.
