The Office of Community Affairs and Outreach Programs and the Vanguard Jazz Society will host a Holiday Concert on Sunday, December 4, in the Schulz Auditorium at Michael Paul Galvin Tower. The first show begins at 3 p.m. and the second begins at 5 p.m.
Corey Wilkes and his quintet will be performing. Wilkes has established himself as one of the best improvising trumpeters in the modern era. Having the skill and maturity to approach avant-garde jazz to mainstream jazz standards, he combines them with his own unique sensibilities. Wilkes has shared the stage with numerous jazz masters including, but not limited, to Wynton Marsalis, Roy Hargrove, James Moody, Kurt Elling, Von Freeman, and Clark Terry.
