Carl Dobrich, director of IIT Public Safety, has announced the addition of Arturo Martinez as assistant director of public safety for operations.

Martinez comes from an extensive and diverse law enforcement career that spans more than 30 years. He retired as a captain from the Illinois State Police Executive Protection Unit. Martinez supervised other police functions within the Illinois State Police that included uniform and investigative personnel. Throughout the years, Martinez has established numerous professional relationships with law enforcement agencies across the area. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy and of the Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command.
