Illinois Tech hosted its fifth annual LEGO City event in S.R. Crown Hall on Saturday, July 12, 2014. Despite the rain, nearly 1,000 guests participated in the LEGO building event. New to this year’s event were: interactive “LEGO® Mindstorms” robot demonstrations by IIT alumna Manju Muralidharan Priya (MAS ’14); a unique LEGO® programming activity for participants who wanted a hands-on, “unplugged,” coding challenge; and a bigger “Skyscrapers, Highrises & Landmarks” LEGO® display by IIT architecture student and talented LEGO hobbyist Rocco Buttliere.
IIT alumni were invited for breakfast and for early access to the LEGOs.
This event was coordinated by the IIT Boeing Scholars Academy (SASDI office), the IIT Alumni Association, and the Mies van der Rohe Society.
