Illinois Tech is pleased to announce its new strategic partnership with Goodwill Industries of Metropolitan Chicago. Goodwill’s mission is to provide training, employment, and supportive services for people with disabilities or disadvantages who seek greater independence.

For nearly 100 years, your local Goodwill has worked tirelessly to support job seekers with disabilities and disadvantages through training, placement, and employment efforts. Last year alone, nearly 65,000 people received services and 9,608 men and women entered employment. More than 6,100 employees work in 100 locations throughout a 23-county territory in metropolitan Chicago and southeastern Wisconsin.

Goodwill has very generously agreed to serve as a resource in assisting students in the following areas:

  • Vouchers for student professional dress attire
  • Job placement for students with disabilities and veterans

This partnership will allow us to take advantage of good deals, donate, explore careers, and participate in employment training.

We welcome the opportunity to speak with you about how Goodwill can assist you with professional dress attire and more. To learn more about this program, please contact Lisa Montgomery, director of the Office of Inclusion, Diversity, and Employer Engagement, Office of Student Access, Success and Diversity Initiatives, at lisa.montgomery@iit.edu.

Students affiliated with the Center for Disability Resources should contact Gary Walley, director of the Center for Disability Resources, Office of Academic Affairs, at gwalley@iit.edu.
