Illinois Tech Dining, operated by Chartwells Higher Education, is pleased to announce the appointment of Armon Ruffin as the university’s new Catering Director. A proud Chicago South Side native and lifelong Bears fan, Armon brings over 20 years of hospitality management experience, having led food and beverage operations at some of the city’s most prominent hotels, including the Hilton Chicago, Fairmont Chicago, and the W Hotel.

Armon’s expertise spans event management, team leadership, and client experience, with a proven track record in executing large-scale events, as well as high-end social occasions including weddings, cultural celebrations, and corporate gatherings. Guided by the belief that “teamwork makes the dream work”, and that a strong team is the ultimate superpower—he is dedicated to creating unforgettable experiences for every client.
