People with serious mental illness tend to live shorter lives, especially those from ethnic minorities. Illinois Institute of Technology researcher Sonya Ballentine and Distinguished Professor Patrick Corrigan described their Eugene Washington PCORI Engagement Award at the annual PCORI meeting which took place October 6-8, 2015 in Washington, D.C. The award involves such people as partners in patient-centered outcomes research.
