The Muslim Students Association is holding their annual Islamic Awareness Week from Monday, March 21 through Friday, March 25.
Join us on Thursday, March 24 from 6-9 p.m. in the Hermann Hall Expo for our annual Islamic Awareness Week Culminating Banquet. We’ll be covering the host of events that took place this week, and looking towards the future. Our keynote speaker will be Ubaydallah Evans, talking about the necessity for both inter and intrafaith dialogue in society.
Evans is the executive director of the American Learning Institute for Muslims (ALIM). He has a degree in journalism from Columbia. Since then he has studied at Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt, where he is the first African American to graduate from its Shari’a program.
This event reflects the values expressed in IIT’s Diversity Statement and is intended to promote diversity at Illinois Tech.
