Main Campus will be filled with activity on Friday, September 18 and Saturday, September 19 for Homecoming Weekend and IIT Global Spirit Day. There will be plenty of opportunities to connect with alumni and current students—and lots of family-friendly activities.
Homecoming Weekend will kickoff with the web.iit.edu/inauguration of Alan W. Cramb as the ninth president of Illinois Institute of Technology. Staff members are encouraged to show their Illinois Tech spirit by wearing red to the ceremony and reception—free Illinois Tech t-shirts will be available to all staff, and pick-up details will be included in IIT Today next week.
After the ceremony, there will be a reception and the first-ever IIT Global Spirit Day in Hermann Hall from 4:30–6 p.m. with food, giveaways, a prize wheel, photo booth, student organization displays, and much more.
In addition to joining us in person for Spirit Day, you’re invited to participate online. Join the IIT Alumni Association on social media for contests and chances to win prizes like an Apple Watch, Fit Bits, and bookstore gift certificates.
Annual Homecoming Weekend events include the carnival, beer garden, sporting events, and affinity group and Greek activities. We’ll be honoring the Class of 1965 and celebrating their induction into the Golden Society, an honorary society recognizing alumni who graduated from Illinois Tech 50 or more years ago, and we’ll also honor the Class of 1990 with exclusive activities for their 25th reunion.
