Law Bulletin Editor Emeritus Bernie Judge Will Emcee IIT Chicago-Kent’s “125 Alumni Of Distinction” Celebration

Bernard “Bernie” Judge, editor emeritus of the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin, will serve as master of ceremonies for IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law “125 Alumni of Distinction” celebration on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at the Renaissance Chicago Hotel located at One West Wacker Drive (at North State Street) in Chicago. A reception begins at 5:30 pm and dinner will be served at 7 pm.

Bernie Judge served as editor and publisher of the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin, the city’s legal newspaper, from 1988-2007. Prior to joining the Law Bulletin, Judge worked as editor and general manager of the City News Bureau of Chicago, as senior city editor of the Chicago Tribune and as an associate editor at the Chicago Sun-Times.

IIT Chicago-Kent selected the “125 Alumni of Distinction” after nearly a year-long process that garnered more than 400 nominations. A committee of IIT Chicago-Kent alumni, faculty, staff and students narrowed the list to 125 graduates of the law school. The list comprises trailblazing, innovative and successful alumni who have helped shape the legal profession, given back to their communities and to the law school, and helped raise the profile of IIT Chicago-Kent on a global level. Alumni selected represent classes from the late 1800s to the 21st century. Visit to view a list of honorees.

“These 125 Alumni of Distinction represent a cross-section of our community that is as diverse and multi-faceted as the law school itself,” said IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law Dean Harold J. Krent. “Some are lawyers and legislators. Others are civic leaders, entrepreneurs, journalists and authors. Far more are worthy of honor, but those selected stand in for the countless alumni who have made such a huge impact on the legal community and the greater community at large.”
