Nicole Lacey and Mark Zonca have joined IIT as senior directors of communication and co-directors of the IIT Media Center, responsible for increasing IIT’s visibility in local, national and international media, leveraging content for social media initiatives, and enhancing internal communication at the university.

Each brings to the university considerable experience in areas that include media relations, crisis communications, social and digital media strategy development, video production, and issues management. Lacey comes to IIT from City Colleges of Chicago, where she served as media relations officer for the District and Olive-Harvey College. Previously she served as communications manager for the City of New Orleans, and public information officer for Shelby County Health Department in Memphis, Tenn. Zonca most recently worked as the director of digital media communications at Benedictine University. Previously he was the news managing editor for WGN-TV, supervising news producer for WBBM CBS-2 (Chicago), and programming producer for WJBK FOX-2 (Detroit). He can be reached at mzonca1@iit.edu.
