APPLETON, Wis.–Tyler Van Wagener and Julian Escasa both won multiple races as the Illinois Tech men’s swimming and diving team raced past Lawrence in an out of conference meet. The Scarlet Hawks defeated the Vikings 128-64.
Meet Highlights
- The Scarlet Hawk men won eight races on the afternoon, twice taking the top three spots.
- Matthew Randle and Miles Thompson took the top two spots in the 200-yard Freestyle
- Tyler Van Wagener took first in the 50-yard Freestyle race with a time of 22.97 as well as the 100-yard Freestyle finishing with a time of 49.77.
- Julian Escasa won the 200-yard Individual Medley, finishing with a time of 2:04.49. He also swam well in the 100-yard Backstroke, clocking in at 55.90.
- The Scarlet Hawks took the top three spots in the 200-yard Individual Medley, with Sam Kalenowski and Mitchell Lucky finishing just behind Escasa
- Ryan Escasa finished first in the 100-yard Butterfly race with a time of 54.72.
- Lucky lead the way in the 100-yard Breaststroke race with a time of 1:06.31.
- The 400-yard Medley Relay team swam to a win with a 3:46.61 time.
- The Scarlet Hawks 400-yard Freestyle Relay won the race with a time of 3:32.19.
