New Digital Humanities Series in the Fall

For the 2012–2013 academic year, the Department of Humanities will hold a speaker series titled Goals and Boundaries in the Digital Humanities. The series will feature speakers from outside IIT and from departments across campus to discuss the current state of the art in digital humanities and explore disciplinary issues within the emerging field.

Speakers will include academics in multiple fields, library professionals, and public historians. All IIT staff, students, and faculty are welcome to attend. It is hopeful that the series will create intrauniversity connections and jump-start discussions about what specific avenues and objectives the department should pursue as it designs an undergraduate and a graduate specialization in digital humanities over the course of the next two years.

Meetings in the series, approximately one per month, will be held on Thursdays from 1:00–2:30 pm in the conference room in Siegel Hall, Room 218. Questions? Contact Assistant Professor Marie Hicks at mhicks1@iit.edu.
