The National Science Foundation issued a Dear Colleague Letter, Enabling Quantum Leap in Chemistry (18-051), as a result of an NSF-sponsored workshop to explore the relevance of quantum leap to the field of chemistry. The workshop identified areas where chemists can contribute to quantum leap and areas where advances in quantum leap can enable the solution of intractable chemical problems. Among these ideas, quantum leap aims to exploit quantum mechanical phenomena such as superposition and entanglement to develop next-generation technologies for sensing, computing, modeling, and communication. To follow up on the recommendations of the workshop, the CHE directorate invites submission of supplemental funding requests and EAGER (EArly-Concept Grants for Exploratory Research) (EAGER) proposals on Quantum Leap. Proposals are due by Tuesday, May 1, 2018.
Per Illinois Tech policy, all grant applications, regardless of funding source, must submitted by the Office of Sponsored Research and Programs. Completed proposals are due in OSRP at least two business days prior to the deadline set by the sponsor. Please contact osrp@iit.edu or call at 312.567.3035 for assistance.
