Illinois Institute of Technology’s Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) and the Office of Environmental Health and Safety would like you to know that October is National Biosafety Stewardship Month. We ask that all who work with biohazardous materials reinforce their attention to biosafety policies, practices and procedures. Online biosafety training is available via Illinois Tech’s subscription at www.citiprogram.org.
In addition, there are laboratory safety courses within the Illinois Tech Blackboard system, which are easily accessed via self-enrollment as follows:
Within Blackboard, go to the Courses and Organizations tab. Enter “Safety” in the Course Search box or click Browse Course Catalog. If browsing, you can search or look by the term: Training & Professional Development.
The lab safety course is BB_TD_SAFETY and when you roll over the Course ID, you should see a circle. Click that and you can self-enroll.
You can learn all about National Biosafety Stewardship Month here.
