Join Kappa Phi Delta as they team up with Illinois Tech Women’s Volleyball for the 3rd annual Paint IIT Pink Event on Tuesday, October 20. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness for breast cancer, its survivors, and raise funds for breast cancer research. All profits will be donated to the Lynn Sage Foundation, a local Chicago foundation. The Lynn Sage Foundation was founded by sisters Laura and Halee Sage after losing their mother, Lynn, at the age of 39 to breast cancer. All funds donated to Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation support innovative contributions to the understanding, research and treatment of breast cancer, in partnership with Northwestern Memorial Hospital and the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University.
As in past years, the campus will be painted pink with decorations and everyone on campus is encouraged to wear pink to show their support.
Kappa Phi Delta will also be making ribbons to honor both the victims and survivors of breast cancer that will be placed on The McCormick Tribune Campus Center (MTCC) south lawn. If you know anyone who is/was affected by breast cancer personally fill out this form if you would like us to post their name on a ribbon and recognize their fight with breast cancer.
There will be pink food in The Commons as well, provided by Illinois Tech Dining Services, and information demonstrations and health goodies from the Illinois Tech Student Health and Wellness Center. The night will conclude with a Dig Pink Volleyball Game at 7 p.m. in Keating Sports Center with IIT Hawks Nest.
Wear pink or an event shirt, show your support, and come out to Keating Sports Center to raise awareness and support your fellow Hawks.
