Friends,
On the behalf of the IIT Community, I wish to express our sorrow at the death of Peter Lindsay Schaudt. We wish to share our great sadness with the Chicago community and extend our condolences to Peter’s family and business partner. Peter Schaudt was a great talent, having made significant contributions to the landscape of our campus and as an advocate for the importance of landscape architecture in Chicago and beyond. IIT Architecture benefited from his vision as a member of the advisory committee that established our MLA program and from his sunken lawn outside S. R. Crown Hall. His voice will be greatly missed, yet his legacy will endure through the timeless beauty of his work.
