Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,
In our continued effort to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion on campus, my office is proud to continue our DEI speaker series this spring.
Illinois Tech is delighted to once again host two opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to engage with Tami Farber, a specialist in community organizing and systems change with more than a decade of experience working for the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) and other international non-governmental organizations.
This will be a two-part session to continue to build the capacity of faculty to develop an equity analysis and to be able to identify the ways to disrupt harmful patterns and behaviors that continually impact Black, Indigenous, and all students and faculty of color as we work toward a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture.
Session 2 will focus on examining how what we say and what we do contributes to the upholding and maintaining of the status quo and to ongoing harm to Black, Indigenous, and all students, faculty, and staff of color.
