Illinois Tech Men’s Soccer has earned plenty of weekly awards this season, but Christopher Reed was able to net the Scarlet Hawks one more before postseason play. For the second time this season, Reed has been named the Men’s Soccer Association of Division III Independents Player of the Week, this one for action between October 23 and October 29.
During Illinois Tech’s 2-0 week, Reed netted the game-winning goals in both contests, increasing his GWG total on the season to five. In the October 24 1-0 win over Monmouth, he scored with just under two minutes left. On October 28, Reed broke a 0-0 tie with a goal in the 80th minute before Diego Gutierrez Coronel tacked on an insurance goal with three seconds left. His first Player of the Week award came back on October 3, a week in which he also scored two game-winners.
