The annual IIT Institute of Design Strategy Conference in Chicago on May 14 – 15, 2014, connects international thought leaders from industry, civic organizations, and government to explore how design can address the complicated problems facing society and business. Registration is now open.

Design is uniquely poised to interpret and resolve today’s largest and thorniest problems. The 2014 Strategy Conference will examine genetic mapping, intellectual property in the new maker economy, how to measure the results of social innovation, and how large companies organized to reduce risk can learn to innovate. Speakers will demonstrate how design can catapult organizations—not only in terms of the products and services they develop, but also to reinvent their inherent structure.

There are numerous conferences where designers talk about business. The Strategy Conference is different. It is a great event to hear senior executives, authors, and leading academics talk about design.
