The Fall 2020 RES-MATCH program, which is sponsored by the Pritzker Institute of Biomedical Science and Engineering, will begin this month with a virtual kick-off event. The program was started in spring 2020 as part of an effort to provide undergraduate Illinois Tech students with research experiences with faculty.
- Are you an energetic undergraduate student wanting to work in an Illinois Tech research laboratory?
- Do you want an opportunity for an immersive research project this semester?
- Do you want a research experience that can prepare you for your professional career?
- Are you wanting to learn about a new area of research?
If yes, then RES-MATCH is for you. The RES-MATCH Kick-off Event will be held now through September 30, 2020. The event will facilitate the matching of students with research interests to faculty members with research needs.
Illinois Tech faculty members from across the university have defined one-semester projects associated with biomedical science or biomedical engineering for individual students.
The projects are suitable for completion by an undergraduate student within the fall 2020 semester, and will be conducted in adherence to university health and safety protocols, including but not limited to lab safety, occupancy limitations, social distancing, and the required use of face coverings.
During the kick-off event, students should review the RES-MATCH website for faculty-led projects that might match their interests and skill level. The website will be updated regularly to add more projects.
Students can contact the project faculty member to obtain a recommendation to the Pritzker Institute for working on the research project. Look for new projects and updates daily through September 30, 2020, at which time project matching will end.
Students completing a RES-MATCH project will receive a $500 research award.
