Second Session Confirmed: Staff and Faculty DEI Town Hall

The strength of our university is made possible when we build a community based on mutual respect, belonging, and inclusion for all of our students and colleagues. To guide these critical efforts, we have partnered with The Nova Collective to help us evaluate where the university is on this journey.

I am personally inviting you to a university town hall where we will share these findings in detail. This will be an opportunity for faculty and staff to come together as a part of our One Illinois Tech community on Tuesday, April 12, from 12:30–2 p.m. in McCormick Auditorium in Hermann Hall. Please submit any questions that you have for the administration or our partners at The Nova Collective. A link to the livestream is available here, and a full recording will be shared after the presentation.

We have assessed our policies and procedures, as well as completed two cultural climate surveys: one by faculty and staff, which is available here, and another by students, which is available here. At the meeting, we will discuss the results of the surveys and facilitate a conversation about next steps.

Once again, I thank you for taking time to complete the survey and for lending your voice. We value your commitment to learning and supporting each other in our collective growth around the issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

Thank you for all that you have done to make our university a more inclusive and welcoming place for all.

Sincerely,

Raj Echambadi
President, Illinois Institute of Technology
