The Illinois Institute of Technology’s Department of Psychology will be offering a Special Topics Course this fall. PSYC 380-2 Occupational Health Psychology will be taught by Mahima Saxena on Wednesdays from 5-7:40 p.m.
Course Description:
Understanding the relationship between work and health is essential for success in the face of increasingly demanding and complex work. This course will provide students with an understanding of how work affects our health and vice versa. We will review various aspects of work psychology and their association with individual and organizational health. Topics include job-burnout, work stress, well-being, emotions at work, dark workplace behaviors, diversity in the workplace, work family balance, and so on. This course will be particularly beneficial for students who have taken Industrial Psychology and who plan to gain further insight into the world of work. Prerequisite: PSYC 221 or 222, or instructor permission. This course may satisfy a general education social science requirement.
