The 2016 tax season is here. If you were an international student or scholar who was present in the United States in 2016, you must file certain tax forms with the federal government as required by federal law and mandated by your immigration status. This also applies to your dependents on F-2/J-2 visas. It is your responsibility to understand your tax obligations.

To aid you in this process, the International Center is once again providing you with free access to the Sprintax tax preparation service. You must add the Sprintax channel to your myIIT portal if you would like to take advantage of the free federal tax return filing. You may also choose to file your state tax return(s) through Sprintax for a small fee.

The deadline to file both Federal and State tax returns is Tuesday, April 18, 2017.
